Natural Flexibility Might be Better than Stretching

Natural Flexibility or Stretching? In a New York Times article titled, “To Stretch or Not to Stretch?“, July 18, 2018:

…static stretching has fallen out of favor in recent years, after studies showed that prolonged static stretching might cause reactions in the nervous system that temporarily weaken the stretched muscle.”

Instead, the article reports that the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as other organizations and coaches, advise against stretching.  However, studies cited in the article were short-term and did not address dynamic flexibility, or Natural Flexibility Training, a new form of isometric flexibility training pioneered by Dr. Charles Kenny.
